Castrol HONDA SuperBike World Champions is a licensed motorcycle racing game, developed by Intense Simulations Entertainment and Interactive Entertainment, Ltd. and published by Midas Interactive. The game is a good attempt at being a serious bike racing sim and the motorcycle used is patterned after the 1997 World Championship winning bike. The player can modify the level of realism by choosing the number of riders per race, or picking the number of laps in a race, or choosing to run the full race which is 100 kilometers. The bike setup options offer even more customization even offering the ability to tweak the gear sprockets or even the tire settings.
Even though it does well trying to be serious, there are still element of arcade still present in the game. Collision detection is not implemented well, as touching another rider will send your bike veering off at a forty five degree angle. Crashes lack realism as well, consisting mainly of sliding a few feet with the rider still attached to the seat.
Even with these problems, Superbike World Champions is a solid bike racing sim with a good level of customization. Even the graphics have aged well for a game developed in the nineties.
